I’ve been the lead designer on the John Lewis brand since late 2021. It’s an enjoyable brand to create for, I get to work with creatives that are right up there with the best in the industry.

Christmas 2021
They say when the John Lewis ad appears, Christmas has begun. It was a proud moment in 2021 to be involved in this special event as the lead designer on John Lewis with adam&eveDDB and King Henry Studios.
I can’t take credit for the TV ad, but I was involved in creating the logo for the Christmas campaign and creating the gifting press.
Sometimes I need to make the typography invisible so the content can be read and understood quickly and clearly. Numbers kerned, inter-character spacing set, size, alignment and leading considered.
I reduced the thickness of the hyphen in 'long-term' because the Semi bold Gill Sans Nova is quite large. It interrupted the flow of the line.
Here I was looking for a balance between the logos and still retaining the hierarchy of the brands.
